A Note from our COO, Pauline Kariuki
Since joining TWB in 2021, I have had the privilege of witnessing a meaningful period of growth, reflection, and strengthening across the organization. It has been both humbling and inspiring to see how the collective commitment of our team, partners, and communities continues to shape and strengthen TWB’s journey.
Over these years, TWB has advanced its mission of empowering women and nourishing communities. We empower women through dignified employment, practical skills training, and wrap around services, such as mental health counseling and onsite daycares. We nourish communities through our production of nutritious bread that serves families, schools, and neighborhoods across Rwanda. We have been intentional about building foundations that allow this impact to grow sustainably. Our bakeries and programs continue to reach more communities while simultaneously creating opportunities for women to build stable livelihoods and confidence in their abilities.
TWB has also focused on strengthening the systems that support our mission; refining organizational processes, enhancing financial and operational management, expanding trainings for women, and improving how we track performance and impact. These systems ensure that our social mission and commercial operations reinforce one another, creating a model designed to deliver both meaningful impact and long-term sustainability.
What inspires me most is the dedication of the women across our bakeries whose resilience, skill, and leadership continue to bring our mission to life every day. We remain deeply grateful to the partners and supporters whose belief in this work makes our progress possible.
