FOR WOMEN AND TEAM MEMBERS
Professional Development
Initial and ongoing baking training is provided to all bakers, focusing on baking skills, product development, efficiencies and project management.
Each new baker completes 200 hours of bakery training. Every quarter, all bakers take part in 30 hours of professional training.
Childcare
At both bakeries, we provide childcare to all our employees at an onsite “Baby House,” ensuring children have a safe place to be each day. We also help identify at-home care for times when the Baby House is not available.
9 children are currently being taken care of, for 9 mothers, at our two Baby Houses.
Financial Literacy Training
This offering has empowered women to manage their finances more effectively, fostering a culture of savings that contributes to their overall financial well-being and stability.
100% of our team members save a portion of their monthly earnings. Before working at TWB, only 10% of our team members reported having any savings.
86% of our team members actively manage their finances with a budget. For 80% of our team members, TWB is their primary source of income.
Health Insurance
TWB has provided health insurance for its staff since 2017. It covers for prescription medications and specialized treatments, as well as access top-level medical facilities. We provide additional coverage for mental health, making it accessible to all employees through collaboration with a professional counselor.
100% of our team members—35 women bakers and 14 managers—have health insurance coverage. We also provide coverage for 62 dependents.
Work Meals
All employees enjoy breakfast and lunch at work each day. Team members take turns volunteering for food prep and cooking of daily meals.
We offer 2 meals, twice a day for all of our bakers and team members.
FOR CHILDREN
One Bread Project
Our school snack program aims to reduce malnutrition among school students.
OBP’s NutriBun bread snack is fortified with protein, fiber, and 9 vitamins and nutrients.
We partnered with 65 schools in 2024. Student dropout rates at OBP schools have declined by 86%.
FOR COMMUNITY
Our bakeries bring nutritious, fortified baked goods to their community, and boost the local economy through employment and purchase of goods.
TWB’s participation in the local economy benfits various types of businesses:
Groceries and food markets
Suppliers of raw materials
Repair and maintenance services
