Production Begins at our Musanze Bakery!

We have begun production at our new bakery in Musanze, which is Rwanda’s second largest city in the northern region of the country. This bakery will operate as part of TWB's One Bread Project (OBP), serving students in the Musanze School District.

The majority of our partner schools there will co-pay a percentage of the price of the TWB bread, while remaining costs will be covered by TWB donations. This model allows TWB to continue to scale sustainably, while serving free bread to students who need it.

The model will also enable the Musanze bakery to provide free bread to schools serving Early Childhood Development (ECD) students. Rwanda's National School Feeding Program does not guarantee ECD students a daily meal, so our bakery will help fill a critical nutrition gap.

Besides the necessary baking equipment, the new bakery has all the aspects that make TWB unique: a baby house, western toilets, a shower for bakers, and a canteen for team members to share meals.
