OBP RECAP 2024/2025 A Big Year for One Bread Project
One Bread Project (OBP) grew quite a bit during the 2024/2025 school year. TWB strengthened the model to ensure long-term sustainability, so that we continue reaching students who need nutritious bread the most.
One change we made this year was to serve students at Early Childhood Development (ECD) schools. Rwanda's National School Feeding Program gives primary and secondary students a meal at school, but not ECD students. Our pivot to serve ECD schools means our breads fill a gap in the Rwandan school system.
We also made OBP more sustainable financially this year. We have recruited many more schools who pay for TWB breads, which gives us the financial bandwidth to continue to serve non-paying schools, as well.
We finished the school year in June serving over 21,000 students each day, across 104 schools in Kigali and Gicumbi.
