We just got back from this year's BEMA (Bakery Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds) Convention in Puerto Rico, and it was a good one! BEMA is where TWB was introduced to many of its corporate partners, as well as some of our individual donors. It offers a beautiful setting for us to connect with the baking industry, as a small but mighty social enterprise.

 

Highlights from the conference include:

  • Reconnecting with other BEMA members.

  • TWB was represented on one of the group adventures.

  • Markey representing TWB at the Baking Industry Collaboration Breakfast. TWB had the opportunity to share our mission with BEMA members AND sell some TWB swag!

  • Dennis Gunnel, president of Formost Fuji Corp, highlighted TWB in his Lifetime Achievement Award acceptance speech. In the same speech, he committed donating to TWB, and invited others to do so. His speech helped TWB secure a MATCHING grant for $12,000 for OBP!
