In 2020, the baking teams in Rwanda made a total of 712,833 units of bread. That weighs around 36,795 kilograms or 81,119 pounds of baked goods!
That’s a HUGE increase from 2019 when we produced 554,020 units of bread, weighing in at about 21,668 kilograms or 47,770 pounds!
While the 2020 numbers are impressive, only three weeks into the new year, and we are already on track to set new records. The Ruyenzi Baking Team achieved their highest production and sales mark yet, producing 100 KGs of bread a day in mid January. Not to be outdone, the Gicumbi Baking Team has begun producing 150 KGs of bread daily! Already, we’ve sold 4,000 units of bread.
We are so proud of our whole team of strong women and very optimistic of what this year will bring!
