BAKERY OPERATIONS MANAGER
Yvonne is a dynamite force of strength, conviction, and commitment. Seeing the growth of her country and the challenges it has overcome, she has maintained a passion for underserved communities for the duration of her life, especially for women. She believes that economies can be fueled by many things, but that women are the most important force of all.
Raised in Kigali, Rwanda, Yvonne began her career with a focus in community development. She has worked with Think Impact and Cornerstone Foundation – both in Rwanda – to help them continue their work with community-based projects. These experiences provided the opportunity for Yvonne to funnel her passions for women’s empowerment with the business sector. Fusing these two together, Yvonne found TWB and initially interned with our East Africa based team.
In 2016, she joined the team officially, and became the Bakery Operations Manager for TWB’s flagship bakery in Remera. As Yvonne often says, her work with TWB has been about the “right position, at the right time, with the right organization, and with the right people.” In her role, Yvonne manages daily bakery operations, including bakery staff, product quality and consistency, growing markets, and overseeing all human resources related services. TWB women look to Yvonne for every aspect of the business; without her, we could not do what we do.
Yvonne recently completed her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Kigali in Business Management and Economics. Her favorite food is cassava, and no matter what day it is, Yvonne loves hosting friends and cooking for her family.
