Hilary believes in blending health access and education with empowering women with knowledge, tools and strategies to improve their, their children’s and their families’ livelihoods. Hilary has combined her educational background with her technical expertise to design programs that are sustainable and impactful for the people they serve.

As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda (2015-2017), Hilary focused on working with women and children on food security, hygiene, and gender equality initiatives. She also worked with Rwandan youth on career opportunities, health promotion campaigns and empowering girls in and out of the classroom. Before Peace Corps, Hilary worked as a Program Coordinator with The Office for Business and Community Economic Development, connecting organizations with graduate students to serve economically disadvantaged communities in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to completing her Master’s at the University of Minnesota, Hilary worked as a Reproductive Health and Family Planning Consultant with Wellshare International. This role required her expertise on culturally sensitive reproductive health topics, monitoring and evaluation techniques and designing appropriate training materials for refugee populations.

As the Program Manager, Hilary is responsible for managing all bakeries in Rwanda, including financial, human resources and monitoring and evaluation reporting, assisting with expansion efforts, communicating between Rwanda and U.S. based teams and supervising interns, volunteers and Fellows.

Hilary has a strong affinity for cheese and enjoys any active outdoor activity (especially biking), reading, and surrounding herself with friends and family.
