As an organization.
IN AFRICA, THE WOMEN'S BAKERY, ltd. is a registered FOR-PROFIT BUSINESS.
Our Rwanda Country Office and local bakeries are for-profit. They employ market-based solutions to combat social problems. The Ltd. in Rwanda brings in revenue from training fees. As we scale in Rwanda, this revenue will cover all local operating costs, including operations and local staff salaries.
IN THE UNITED STATES, THE WOMEN'S BAKERY, inc. is A NON-PROFIT (501C3).
Our non-profit arm allows TWB to use donations to fund senior staff, support programs until they reach self-sustainability, develop our model, and grow.
As a bakery.
The Women's Bakery helps women start a bakery in their community. We train them in all aspects of building and managing their business and we are there for them when they need a hand.
Women open the bakery, prepare tea for customers, and organize goods packaged the night before to ready for distribution.
Women record inventory and assess the day's needs. They bake breads, protein-cakes and muffins, then package and label all products. Depending on location, women sell products within their own shop, or their sales team take the breads out to sell in the community.
Women take care of bookkeeping and accounting and clean and close the bakery.
Each month, women distribute payroll to all employees.
