Marketing and Design Lead
Lots of people have dream vacations—an exotic beach, a ski excursion, a music festival. Darsey Landoe's dream vacation for the longest time was, as she put it, "to go to Africa, live in a hut, wear one piece of cloth wrapped all around me, and carry things on my head." When Markey Culver got assigned to Rwanda for her Peace Corps service, Darsey said, "I'm coming."
Her two weeks in Rwanda in 2012 delivered what she was looking for and so much more. Beyond unimaginable experiences with incredible people, the trip afforded her the opportunity to serve TWB long after Markey's Peace Corps service ended.
Darsey brings for-profit advertising and non-profit development experience to the table. She worked at Erwin Penland Advertising in Greenville, South Carolina, for two years in studio and as an associate art director, working for clients such as Verizon, Michelin, Duke University, Denny's, Fatz Cafe, Millikin and more. She left EP and headed west to take a position at non-profit Portland Rescue Mission in Portland, Oregon. For three years, Darsey designed the mission's development materials, wrote recovery stories for the monthly newsletter, and took photos for all the organization's events.
Darsey left the mission in 2012 to work as an independent designer, and she caters her work toward non-profits and small businesses. Her current client roster includes Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity, Mercy Corps and the Oregon Historical Society.
For TWB, Darsey leads marketing and design strategy.
